Day One: Shipping the Boilerplate and a Troll Encounter!

NOTE: If you want to try the game, it will be more feature rich at the END of the submission period. I submit early and update often. If you have a different expectation, my game will disappoint you!

So, it is day one, and true to my methods, I did the following:

  1. Got the github repo: https://github.com/playdeezgames/TGGD_AdvJam2022
  2. Made the boilerplate project with little more than a title screen
  3. Made the itch page
  4. Got my publish toolchain set up and tested
  5. Submitted to the jam

In many of the jams I have entered, I typically get a few puzzled looks from people who are surprised that a person would enter a terminal app into a game jam. Up until today, they have been neutral to encouraging to absolutely delighted.

But not today. Today I got my first "Y U MAEK CONSOLE APP U R DUM" comment on the submission entry.

And that restores my faith in the internet as an awful place.

So, it goes.

Really, this makes the whole process of participating in this jam an adventure. I typically don't enter one with this many other entrants. We'll have to see how it goes.
